It’s a dog’s life at Whale Island Cabins all the time!
I live in North Pole, Alaska and teach high school history. Each summer I drive from Fairbanks to Homer (10-12 hours) and then take the ferry to Kodiak (8-9 hours). I love the weeks I spend down there in my beautiful Shangri La. Life has gotten a little busier lately, we bought a travel trailer in the states, so now we are trying to balance our leisure time in the States and Kodiak in during our extraordinarily short Alaskan summers.
Although I have posted and visited Kodiak less, the property is still available year round. It remains, in my humble opinion, the most peaceful and beautiful place in Alaska.
This coming summer, I plan to be in Kodiak during the first two weeks of June. If you would like to visit with the “hostess with the mostest” and let me wait on you, that would be the time to come. I love cooking breakfast for my guests and learning about all of the wonderful places that you come from.
You have to book soon! My family members love to come and fill up my calendar! Last summer my son, his wife, and best friend came from Florida for their third visit. Whale Island is calling you, too…
